Front axle truss / upper oil pan collisions

I've read a post somewhere about front axle trusses coming in contact with the JK engine upper oil pan. So I started doing some searches and found a few other people talking about this.

This may be a 3.6l problem only, but there are a few stories about JKs with front axle trusses (I only say Artec, not sure if it applies to others) in which the truss hit the upper oil pan and punctured it. Even with 3" bump stops.

I find it odd that I haven't seen much about this until recently. Is this a problem with all front axle trusses? Is it only a 3.6l issue? I've seen some pictures of people who have notched the front truss to clear the pan.

I'm concerned now that my Barnes 4WD truss may have the same issue.

First I have heard of it. I know on the 3.8 you can have issues with the oil filter if you have really tall mounts. Got any photos of the issue you are concerned about?

Here's some pictures from a different website. Used completely without permission or attribution.

This one shows how the owner notched the Artec truss:

I did send an email to Barnes and they said there should be no problems. I do have 3" bump stops. My truss does hit my track bar bolt. One of these days I need to turn it around.

I read and posted on that thread on unnamed website. I crawled under mine and have no signs of contact. My front axle is pushed slightly forward though, and it looks as though my truss is at least an inch forward of where it will contact the upper pan. I do have 3" bumps as well.

Just had my truss welded on and haven't done any hard enough wheeling yet to have this but will keep an eye out for it. OME HD lift with the 3.8.

I feel like to do this you would have to be thrashing the rig by jumping it or something along those lines.
