Sounds like a good idea for weight I agree. But the best aluminum money can buy, properly treated with the best primer and paint will still get corrosion faster than other metal besides magnesium of coarse. Probably an environmental thing, aluminum can be a pain in the ass. Aviation flight mech for 4 years, and not a huge fan of an aluminum car but who knows.
