Something like this? It's a bit dirty, but used Spray liner on the grill, then hand painted the Jeep.

Besides cleaning it up did you have to rough up the surface to get it to work?

Mad Dog 21, I cleaned mine, gave it a good sanding and then used self etching primer and then bedliner for mine. I'll post a pic in a second

Seaver, so you used an 60-80 grain then cleaned it up and primed it for painting?

Yes sir. I used the rustoleum self etching primer and then their bedliner as well.

Nice, I have to see if I have any primer or 80 grain left. Thanks again.

WOW that super grit... You seriously sanded it with 60-80... 320 grit is MORE than enough. 60-80 grit will cut fairly deep into the plastic.

You could have just cleaned it up removing all the wax and surface debris with automotive clay. Then just spray it with plastic adhesion promoter and spray with whatever your painting it with.

I cleaned it with clay, glass cleaner and sprayed it with plasti-dip:

"If you're not going to do a job right, either because you're lazy or you just don't know how... then don't touch it, because then someone else has to clean up the mess you made, just ask for help. There is always someone willing to help out fellow Jeepers."

Nice paint job. The only think I have tried plastidipping was my wheels. It turned out great.

I had originally Plastidipped my grill but it held onto dirt even after being washed like crazy so it always looked dirty. I then used the Duplicolor Armor on it(spray Bedliner) and its looks significantly better as clean all the time.
