MCE flex fenders. Gen2 and 3

Hope its okay that I post here. No vendors or manufacturers pay me to put stuff on my site.

I have been looking at replacement fenders for the JeepsOnTrails JK Rubicon for some time now, and after seeing everything on the market, I finally went with a set of the Gen II Flexible Fenders from MCE.

When I showed Sam, (another JeepsonTrails writer) the fenders I was planing on ordering, he said to order him a pair of the Gen III Flexible Fenders so that we could do a side-by-side review of them. The Gen II fenders have the same texture as OEM fenders and the Gen III comes with a carbon fiber look. Next step was getting these fenders, and a quick phone call is all that took. Mike @ MCE is a very knowledgeable and easy guy to talk to. He arranged for us some super fast shipping and we got our fenders in just a few days.

When we installed these fenders, we were VERY impressed with build quality and the ease of the install; everything went well together. The fact that these things look amazing and have that true flat-fender look I wanted, made 2 very happy customers here at Jeeps on Trails.

the install is very simple and straight forward. i have it on my site if anyone is interested. the instructions are good just take your time with lining things up. fist side took a lot longer than the second just because i learned some trick along the way.

So far I am very happy with these fenders. I ran them in the great Snowpocalypse that struck Georgia earlier this year (2014) and was really impressed with how easily they cleaned up. I’ve already received tons of compliments on them. One thing I did notice is that the front flares are a little wider than stock at the bottom near the door. This has kept alot of water from getting thrown into the cab when the doors are off. Overall, this is a great addition to the JKR. Keep up the good work MCE!

Love these fenders...I like the Carbon Fiber look ( matches my Silver )....only concern I have is the MCE bracket that hangs low under the front fenders. Pretty sure my tires would contact that at full stuff.

great review, very good write up on install as well. I am thinking about replacing my bushwackers with these, I like the BW but I hate they are held on by adhesive tape. I do have a question you might be able to answer, I have some slight body damage at the front passenger fender sheet metal (thanks tree) do you think these would bolt on OK and possibly hide the damage? my bushwackers wont stay on with the tape, and Id like to avoid paying to replace the whole panel. thanks!

Bushwhackers are not held on by tape...lol. There is an adhesive backed rubber moulding between the fender and body panel to prevent wear in the paint. The flares themselves are secured with screws
