The passenger side hood vent blew out at 55 mph and hit the top right side of my windshield and shattered on the road. Pieces of cheap plastic everywhere. Been two days and I am still waiting for the dealer to tell me when they can get a replacement.

I couldn't find any other thread on this so I'm bringing it back to life.
I went ahead and cut my plastic vents opened up too to help with heat reduction under the hood. Hopefully doing so don't cause any issues with elements getting in and messing anything up under the hood.

Looks good... Do you have pictures of them in the hood?

Sorry I'm just now getting to this. Here's the photos I took once the vents were installed on the hood. And FYI, there are no issues with water getting inside the hood even when parked during rain storms or snow. Nothing that anything significant i've noticed anyway.

I have the 10A hood on my 13 JKUR and I did not install the sound deadener. The plastic bezels also pop out pretty easily so you could pop them out and cut out anything that is not an attachment point for the bezels. I plan on doing this to mine eventually.

Any updates on increasing the amount of underhood cooling by modifying the openings and adding fans??

I just don't see why the 10A's would run any hotter than all the other 3.6L JKs. I've had my 2012 wheeling in 100+°F with no cooling issues, and that's with the stock solid hood.

Is there anything different on the 10As cooling wise?

Just the air vents on the hood. Obviously there won't be a change on the dash but I'm curious about when you pop the hood. Seems there's quite a bit of heat pouring out when I open the hood.

engine bay isn't waterproof. You'll be just fine. I've been running a Poison Spyder louver for almost two years with no issues.

Did you paint up the cut edges at all to help prevent rust from forming in there?
