    Well, mine is NOTHING like what you guys are aspiring to build (and believe me I've considered it), but in the end this simple shelf is all I needed and it gets the job done wheneither the hardtop or softtop is on or off.
    Its just a 3/4" treated plywood, some sealer and a "cut to size" piece of marine grade, rubber backed carpeting. Took all of 20 minutes to make and install and it works great and suports a good amount of weight.

    Nice work! It looks better and more durable than the GPCA cargo cover.

    Thanks! it has been very useful and is still in great shape. I have since added some large Eyelet bolts to 4 corners that hold it in place better and I can strap things to. I usually have a storage bag (like a rifle case) of some kind on it.
