Next came tires and wheels. I have always been a big fan of 15" wheels. I like all that sidewall, not to mention that tires are less expensive. I know that above a 35" I am limited to only certain brands of tires but I am okay with that as I don't think I'll be going larger than 35s on this build. If I do, there are still plenty of choices out there for me. I am also a fan of cheap steel wheels. I don't mind scratching the snot out of em and if they need to be replaced it really doesn't hurt the wallet. Back in the day there were very few peeps running the black wheels but now everyone and their brother is. It's a bit over done I think. I will be painting them in the future.

So, ended up going with Pro Comp Xtreme M/T 35x12.50-15 wrapped around the Pro Comp 52 15x8 3.75" bs. These wheels fit fine with no rubbing or grinding on the caliper needed. I did have to trip the air dam though because the tires were rubbing on it at full turn.

    Front Bumper

Next came the front bumper. I'm finally getting around to getting a real bumper on this thing. I picked up a Pavement Ends front bumper from a fellow Military Jeeper who was changing out to something else. Got the winch plate for it from 4WP. I wanted this bumper for it's simplicity and the fact it is just a basic bumper. I plan to massage it a bit and will post up that project as I do it.

It was a slow day at work on Friday so I got called off. I decided to put my time to good use and paint my wheels. I scuffed em up first with some 220 grit sand paper. I know some people have used playing cards tucked between the bead and the tire to prevent overspray but I just picked up some of the sample paint color cards from the store and used those. After cleaning em up I applied several coats of Rustoleum brand tan camo paint.

Added a cargo rack a few weeks ago. We bought a canoe and I didn't particularly care to strap it to the hard top so I bought a Body Armor base rack.

The rack sure makes it much easier to transport the canoe without having to worry about jacking up the hard top.
