    Oil pan gasket replacement

So it's time. My 2008 has a slow leak and it's time to just get it taken care of. Has anyone else done this repair recently? Have any tips on doing it yourself? Or is it worth it to take it somewhere to get it done?

You should change your oil pickup tube o-ring while you're at it as a preventive maintenance against oil pressure loss. Some upper oil pan gasket kits come with this o-ring included and should've take more than 5 minutes to replace.

For reference, I've found several youtube vids showing oil pressure issues from o-ring brittleness from age....Chevy 5.3, 6.0 to Mercedes AMG engines.

Have you tackled the oil pan gasket replacement yet? I'll be doing this next weekend. My gasket is moist but no drips but it's time for an oil change so figured I'll do the gasket on same day. I've watched a couple of videos and seems like a straight forward project.

RoubsX2 I like your suggestion of replacing the oil pickup tube o-ring as well.
