I finally also bought a new winch cover tp replace the $14 Tractor Supply one I bought a few years ago. It was just something to cover it. It wasn't water proof (or even that resistant).
That thing had faded to grey almost immediately amd some moron had managed to flick a lit cigarette onto it on the freeway and managed to burn it a bit as well.

The new one is MUCH nicer and excels at everything the other one did not. I picked up on Amazon for $20 and highly recommend it. Fits my 12, 000 lb. winch like a glove.

It just so happens I was hit by another car this morning. I was stationary and was cutting sideways into a lane from a coffeeshop exit across one lane (the driver was polite enough to let me pass). As I attempted to enter the next lane (keep in mind that all traffic is stationary at this point)..I honked my horn and tried to motion to the other driver to back up a foot so I could squeeze in. Her face was buried in her phone texting; didn't even acknowledge me honking at her.
So now I'm stuck between two lanes with the front of my car directly in front of hers...Light turns green. She GUNS IT for the ONE FOOT of space between me and her and immediately hits my car at a furious 10 mph (I can only assume).
At first she looks at me as if I just darte din front of her. I rolled down my window and explained I'd sat in front of her the entire duration of the redlight. She hit me...not the other way around. So, I get her to back up a foot so I can move and I drive onto the island at the turnaround and she darts off to work. She just HIT and RUN!?!

Short version: She hit my part of my steel bumper and front wheel and cracked my plastic centercap. That was it. No other damage.

Meanwhile her little plastic car had a broken turn signal and front fender damage where it slightly buckled.

I called the cops and explained what happened, but I didn' file a report.

Added some new lights and relocated the license plate.





Used some water proof quick disconnects on the wiring for easy removal.

Thanks! I still want to get flat fenders. Always something more I can add. Hopefully, with my next job, I can get a cheap car and reserve the Jeep for the weekends.

I made a youtube channel to document our trips. We don;t usually take pictures or video at all so there isn't much on there.
Just getting used to it myself. So far it's been fun. Only thing that sucks is none of the really "hairy" stuff is on there...just a buncha EZ PZ stuff.
No one ever bothers to get out of the car to take video when we're doing something difficult. LOL!

They are just some "amazon off brand" versions of grab handles, though mine actually say Grab Handles on the grips so who knows?

I put the Soft top on last night in anticipation of the 4th of July fireworks because it has been sunny all week and this is what happens.

Thankfully, it will dissipate and the display will not be cancelled.

...and yes, that is a 2003 Rubicon (first year) in the background
