2013 XLT with the 3.5L Ecoboost. I was originally looking for the V-8 but once I realized the V-6 not only had better mileage but higher towing capacity (9.6k vs 7.7k), it was an easy decision to make. It was a Certified Pre Owned with only 47K on it. Being CPO, it came with a 12m/12k bumper to bumper, plus the drive train warranty is good until August 2020 or 100k miles.

Getting things prepped for Easter Jeep Safari. Greasing all the fittings. Some WD-40 on the control arm ends (they are rusty AF - I might need to replace some).

I have an axle seal leak (minor) so I drained the front diff just to be sure - everything looked really good.

The dream shop is still a a ways away, but I did add a 17'x34' workshop on the back of the garage. Lots of room for my tools and project space, plus a spot to store the Jeep over the winter.

So long, and thanks for all the fish

    My last post....

I think it's pretty obvious that this forum has died. The only new activity is spam for male enhancement products or porn.

This makes me sad. I've made a lot of great friends because of the JK and this forum.

But, for when the inevitable time comes that this site is no longer operational, I want to save the history of my build that I have chronicled in this thread. Forums, for the most part, are dying in favor of things like Fakebook. But those platforms suck for this kind of stuff. Sure, I have the pictures, but I won't have the story I wrote around them at the time. I'm getting old. I forget things.

After looking for a solution, I settled on copying all of my posts to a Wordpress blog. Wordpress has been around forever and, surprisingly, is still heavily used today, is very mature, and has a wide variety of add-ons and themes available. I rent my own server space and the site files and database belong to me. I was able to save all of my posts and pictures, slightly edited for clarity. Unfortunately, there's no way to save the comments and questions asked by others.

I only spent the last week or so of evenings recreating all of the existing content. I'm also working on filling in some of the gaps that have been missing in the year+ that I never added to this thread, as well as some photos from trips. I am doing this for me. I could care less if anyone else saw the new blog. Besides, I don't really want to have to pay for more data.

Feel free to check it out:

    Build thread: https://www.mylilmule.us/category/build/?order=asc
    Main blog: https://www.mylilmule.us

For the handful of people that will actually see this, see you on the trail!

    Greg

P.S. If you reply to this thread, it's highly doubtful I will ever see it. I've removed JK Freaks (and the other forums) from my bookmarks.
