The Gekko started its life as a 2dr 2012 Rubi. It is the 4th jk in our immediate family. I bought it for my kids at college. I still have to remind them its mine.

Ok here is a pic of the Gekko its first wheeling trip as a stock rubi:

My son took it to college. Soon it had this for a rear quarter. He backed into a post. I believe him.

I always intended to build Gekko. Because of the damage I decided to accelerate the build. Plus my son goes to school in Lander WY and he loves to wheel.

It turned to TNT Customs to do the build. It's a "moderate" build. Its what TNT calls the "Renegade" package:

We picked Gekko up today here it is:

It's a 3.5" short arm lift. 17" Trail Ready Beadlocks, and BFG 37" rubber.

The front fenders are Genright Tube fenders (nice product, Tony). I like the way the black trim turned out.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/10/ury7equs.jpg

TNT has designed an built a rear armored fender. It should be fully commercial soon. My son clearly needed armor. Now it's there. ;)

Here is that formerly crushed rear, now fixed:

These are TNT Guardian Sliders:

TNT Drop Bracket for Short Arm plus TNT short arms.

TNT Aluminum Belly armor set (gas tank, tranny, oil pan).

Here is my daughter bringing it back from its test drive.

http://img.tapatalk.com/d/13/01/10/gevamy4e.jpg

Gekko has 5.13 gears, the rear axle is upgraded to chromoly. Gekko is very snappy, fun to drive.

We will bring the Gekko out to WOTR to see how well it wheels. I think it will do ok. :thumbs up:

Here are few more pics. Work in progress.

Gekko has a 3.5 inch short arm lift. Here is TnTs drop down bracket to help the geometry:

Here is the front. The arms adjust.

As a kid if I'd backed my Jeep into a pole my dad would have made me pay to fix it and likely kicked my butt for being dumb. Your kid get a killer build!! Times have changed.

Thanks guys.

Yeah, he is a good kid. He was stand up about dinging it. He insisted he pay to have it fixed. He's a good kid. He felt terrible about it. Gekko has only a few thousand miles on it.

He doesn't have a lot of money.

So I figure by building it we all win. He loves to wheel, so he has a rig to head into to mountains with that should be robust. Plus Gekko is armored up. Posts, or anything else, won't hurt it too much.

Finally, I get it back when the kids are done with it. Then ill build it big.

My kids, especially my son loves wheeling as much as I do. Soooooo. What the hell. We live once.

From one Gecko to another, my jealously is paramount.

Sweet Jeep my friend, it looks killer and I'm sure that I performs just as well! And you said make it... Bigger?! D:

Sweet Jeep :thumb: I really like those rockers and the armor with the integrated rear fenders. This thing would look even better with some ORO Litedots in the rear.

Thanks. Yeah, bigger. The kids wanted me to keep it as small as possible. Me, I would relocate the gas tank, put in a dual triangulated 4-arm rear, y-link long arms in front, and slightly stretch to accommodate 40's. Of course to do 40's I would need D-60's. So, future project..... This Gekko Renegade is good enough for now. :)

Thanks. I shall now go look at the Litedots!

Thanks. I'll post some vids in a Rex and family thread. :) This Gekko could do many, if not most of the trails, that Rex does. However, need to use the winch more.

They are good, and they are good guys too. They will even be better when they carry and install TNT parts. Because I have more flexibility in time (lots of jeeps) and I generally don't mind have new jeeps cut up, my rigs get used for prototyping/perfecting parts by Bob at TnT. I'm good at breaking stuff.

Trail Jeeps is a good shop. TnT are outstanding fabricators, as well as good people.

I'm serious. The only way to know how stuff works/feels is to drive it. I don't mind.

I might hold you to that. thanks!

I dont think they will let me. "Hey I have never met the owner of this bad ass Jeep but he sent me a message on line telling me to tell you to lety me drive it."
Sound s odd to me and i am the one saying it lol

LOL. Really, they know and I know that the only way to understand a suspension and how it drives is to drive it. People drive my jeeps frequently. ;). It's ok. It's about jeeps.

So in your case I did send them an email : if a guy with a screen name "slob" shows up, pls offer him a test drive of Gekko. ;)

Here is a picture of Gekko on the right Tigger in the middle, and T-Rex on the left. This pic is at one of the playgrounds near St George. Gekko did well wheeling at winter on the rocks.

My son still hasn't seen the Gekko yet. Tomorrow he will! Gekko is being delivered then! ;)

Here are a couple more pics of Tigger. I think it is one of the prettiest 4drs I have ever seen. TnT did nice work, and the owner does a great job taking care of it. Tigger can wheel like crazy too!

It isnt! Tigger is much more refined, than beasty.
