I have been contemplating on doing this, so here is goes.

When I first bought my jeep it already had a lift on it.

35920

Wasnt really what I wanted, so I stripped her down and started over.

3592135922

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-24-2013, 01:09 PM
Then with new lift and new 35's it looked like this. 4.5 AEV Nth w/ ATX artillery wheels and Toyo MT

35923

Shortly after I wanted to add a couple things and realized that the 35's looked to small and went with 37's

35924

After I went with 37's I noticed some weak points and needed to upgrade so came this

35925

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-24-2013, 01:16 PM
After the 37's and changing the gears, she was still a little slow, so this came along.

35926

RIPP Gen 1.

This was the setup for a while

35927
35986

After this trip I blew out steering box and upgraded to PSC Hydro. The best mod I ever did by far.

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-24-2013, 01:25 PM
So after some rubbing and some trail damage some armor came around.

35928

Some tube fenders and Ruff Stuff Sliders.

Then my front bumper looked ridiculous, so I cut it off and made a stubby.

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-25-2013, 10:41 AM
Then after a while, the RIPP Gen 1 that ran off of methane decided to open its valve completely and Hydro Lock my motor, and RIPP being Outstanding as they are hooked me up on a deal for the Gen 2.

35959
35960
Notice the Intercooler.LOL

Then the Winter Following this After doing some Home work it was time for a big improvement and Upgrade. So came the X Factor Long Arm Kit by ROCKKRAWLER and Some EVO KING Coilovers/ Profender Air bumps w/ Currie Antirock in the rear.

35962
35961
35963
35964
35965

Here is what it looked Like parked next to another stock jeep at the time.

35966

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-25-2013, 11:09 AM
So after the lift, I noticed that the rear was lower, knowing that I was still running the 4.5 springs in the rear with 14 inch Coilovers. I ordered some 5.5 Rockkrawler Springs for the rear and took this thing out for a test run.

35967

Wasn't to long later that I wanted to get some beadlocks and go back to my Toyo MT's

35968
35969
35970

And wouldn't you know shortly after Toyo released the 40 inch in a 17inch wheel. Well, I got room and I want them so BOOM!

35971
35972
35980
35981

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-25-2013, 11:13 AM
Well, after a while I tore up my rear fenders and came across a good deal on some armor and fabbed up a way to hook in the GenRight carrier. Also went with the PSC rear Aluminum Fenders and some FOX RES Shocks in the rear.

35973
35974

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-25-2013, 11:22 AM
Then the BIG TRANSFORMATION came later that winter with New custom Paint Job, PSC Brawlerrockers, PSC BFH Trail Stinger, RIGID 10 LED, and new REAR D60.

35975
35976
35977
35978

Then I Painted the Rock Rings and Installed a ROCKHARD Roll cage and a Rubicon T-Case.

35979

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-25-2013, 11:24 AM
Now I got a couple things on the table to get ready for the JK Experience. Rear Limiting Straps, Rear Air Bumps, Rebuild T-Case RUBICRAWLER, and maybe have to replace Power steering pump. Lot of whining this last weekend.

The answer to that question is yes

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-28-2013, 11:51 PM
Just not sure which setup to do. The way I look at it is go full throttle or not at all, so that being said it looks like I am drilling through the tub. Just can't make up my mind.

Brandon1024
06-29-2013, 12:49 AM
If its the 14 inch king ones for sale on another forum I don't see how you can pass the deal up. Even if you have to wait awhile to get them in

TheDirtman
06-29-2013, 08:33 AM
full throttle! Whats in September? Coming out for a visit and run the rubicon trail?

CJ THAT WENT JK
06-29-2013, 10:47 AM
If I mount the coil overs on top of the axle I am afraid 14 will be to big. Gonna do some homework and figure it out. Dirtman, I got chosen to be in JKX in September, so just wanna be ready for anything.

JKred
06-29-2013, 11:59 AM
If you are going towers through the tub then length shouldn't be an issue. Just run them as high as you need for the uptravel you want

TheDirtman
06-29-2013, 12:19 PM
Get some 20" travel coilovers and hook em to the top of the cage :) I am running 16" on mine and the mount is right about the top of the tub.

CJ THAT WENT JK
07-17-2013, 12:50 PM

CJ THAT WENT JK
07-18-2013, 09:25 AM
Okay. Now on with the build. Yesterday I put in an order that consisted of

1. 3 inch Fox Airbumps for the rear
2. Poly JK Rear mount cans
3. Currie Coil retainers for the rear
4. 3 Gallon Rotopax that we are going to Custom fit on the Gen Right Carrier.
5. Rear EVO D-ring Mounts for the Frame. Was going to make some custom, but some came up for sale for cheap so I just bought them.

Stay tuned. Parts should be here next week and the build should start.

CJ THAT WENT JK
07-19-2013, 04:47 PM
Does anybody have any Experience with this coilover setup?

http://www.polyperformance.com/shop/...t-p-27382.html

I know eventually I wanto to go throught the body for my mounts, but for right now this setup doesnt seem to bad for the money. Let me know what you guys think. I know of all the systems out there, so I am not looking for a different one, just feed back on this one. I have recently come into ownership of some King 14 internal bypass coilovers.

Thanks

The more that wanna come wrench the better. I will let you guys know the dates. The plan is change the coilover setup in the front and rear. In the rear we will be going through the tub, so there will be alot of grinding and have to weld the new tabs on the axles and build the towers through the tub. The front is a surprise right now.

I normally don't share our suspension secrets but the key in the leaf spring being mounted horizontal to the axle. The brass bushing bolts help in the flex as well. When you get ready to fabricate that bad boy well give ya more pointers.

If I ever decide to go 4 link in the rear I will just cut it off and start from scratch. I link the three link system, just want the truss to be strong enough for it.

Well some parts came in and the tear down started. New truss that is better than previous, and better steering components. Also noticed some other stuff that needs replaced. Like Hydro lines and new pads for bump stops and ABS wires for rear axle got tore off along with busted rear driveshaft that just confirmed that I need a new one. We will see what else comes up. Gotta go through it all though. This could take a while.:stupid:

TheDirtman

Lengthen your abs lines and run them down the upper link and across the axle. Makes them much less prone to breaking. I did my brake lines that way as well, no more stretched lines.

TheDirtman
09-25-2013, 12:22 PM
Where did you bust that at? I ran the whole trail last wednesday and didn't see anything that rough. The bear I ran over on the way home was the most exciting part of the day.

Right before Cadillac hill you can take the bypass on the left or climb up some boulders on the right. I think I got wedged in between two of the boulders and BAM! Did you really hit a bear? Thats craziness.
